A Pilot Study on Assessment of Impact of Pharmacist-Delivered Intervention on Compliance and Low-Density Lipoprotein Goals Among Patients with Cardiovascular Disease

The objective of this work was to assess the pharmacist provided telephonic patient educational interventions, designed improve management lipid levels and reduce non-compliance lipid-lowering medications. This a prospective study. participants were 60 adults (intervention group with 30 control 30) cardiovascular disease prescribed drugs manage dyslipidemia. Patients in intervention advised regarding compliance therapy by through regular face-to-face counseling counseling. Control patients received standard medical care. primary outcome measure percentage who achieved goal low-density lipoprotein below 100 mg/dl±5 % improvement adherence medications after 2 mo. In group, significant difference observed mo intervention. study demonstrated that pharmacists’ individualized had positive impacts on levels, including improved medication compliance.
